ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kathryn R. Hood is a retired child psychotherapist who graduated from Ole Miss in 1968. She earned her Masters Degree in Counseling at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA and her EdS in Play Therapy from The University of Mississippi’s innovative Child Advocacy and Play Therapy Institute.
Mrs. Hood specialized in treating children ages two to ten in her private practice in Mandeville, Louisiana where she also served as a mental health provider for the St. Tammany School system. While in practice she wrote a series of illustrated books for her young clients and their parents to help them understand childhood mental health issues and how play therapy can help. These books include Little Woogie’s Brain Bo Bo about childhood mental issues, Woogie’s Friend Weezie the Worry Wort about anxiety, and Woogie’s Friend Wyld Otis about ADHD and ADD.
After retiring in Oxford, Mrs. Hood started writing children’s books about Ole Miss. A life-long Rebel fan, she hopes you and your children will enjoy reading her books as much as she enjoys writing them!
Mrs. Hood has also produced two songs about Ole Miss which she wrote the lyrics to, The Ole Miss Rebel Blues and Rebs Gonna Win for your listening enjoyment. Featuring vocalist Damein Wash on The Ole Miss Rebel Blues and American Idol Finalist, Amelia Eisenhauer & The Eisenhauer Band on Rebs Gonna Win.
